Let us know what you think, praise is always welcome.
In addition to praise and flattery, we certainly would appreciate any suggestions or ideas that you might have to help us better this board. Let us know, and be honest!

Now Youtube embeds are enabled, an essential feature for a site like this. Use the following code around the full URL, or use the youtube phpBB code button at the top of your post.

[youtube]place URL here[/youtube]
It's important to note that you need the URL from the address bar, not the link from the share button.

I wanted to note that registration may take at max 10 mins, and there shouldn't be any problems. I've been activating many of your accounts manually because I wanted the process to be faster. If you have any troubles with registration, please email me at makkon06 at Gmail.com

And we are working getting better smilies

hey. hey. I've got an idea.
I've been using this channel for the Toast Beard Compo stuff (ok, well...once. but still)
#bronymusic @ irc.irchighway.net
can that be the official IRC channel for this place?
maybe? :D

I'd love to! I'll do some research and see if we can set that up. I'm not too familiar with IRC.

On another note, I think we eliminated the 'post approval' shenanigans for now. I'll do some more research if we end up getting tons of spam (but we have countermeasures).

>set that up
well, for the most part it's already up and running. I'm idling in there now.
All you'd need to do is say "we have an IRC channel". I guess. (I'm not really an expert, just talking from personal experience as a user here.)
maybe put a browser-based chatbox at the bottom...

>eliminated the 'post approval' shenanigans
phew. that was annoying.

also, edit: looks like the shenanigans were removed. :D

Man, that song is tight XD

Hahah, I'm flattered that my music was used as the example.

So far, I have nothing but praise and flattery for this site.

...apart from possibly love and tolerance.

Those aren't the same thing? Man do I have an english paper to correct...

I wanted everyone to know that I am backing up all the files for this forum as we speak. I'll be doing this monthly.
I am also in the process of installing a mod that displays the active thread of a forum on the front page like so:

Love this place already! I had a few ideas that I thought might make it better.

First, I think we should have some pony emoticons, a la the ones from the pony subreddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/mylittlepony), you can see them on the sidebar there. I feel it might liven posts up a bit :D

Also, maybe we could have a collaboration forum/thread of some sort, where you can post an unfinished mix and another pony can add their own flair

Just my two cents, either way I hope this place continues to grow!

Fantastic suggestions! When NC gets online, we'll finish our discussion on some additional forums.

And TBH I hate the default smilies on this board, and we could really use a new batch. Those smilies look great, but might be a little large (which could break up the continuity of text and spacing). Do you know of any smaller ones around like that?

This place is actually just what I needed. I would quote West Side Story but I'm sure their stuck up copyright lawyers would be all over me... the foals! My friend said he was working on a version of winter wrap up where he does all the parts. I need to show him this site so he can show us all the finished project or even ask for help.

All I can think to add right now are more forum guidelines... it isn't a problem now, but if this site gets big it well be incredibly helpful me thinks. Also regardless if it gets big or not, it should still be helpful.

Not sure of any smaller ones, but I'll try my hoof at them and see what happens! Also, another feature I feel would improve the board a lot would be a "Show New Posts" option somewhere. Maybe I'm missing it but I feel it would make browsing much smoother 8-)

^ "View unread posts" and "View new posts" are up the top in a very small font. Not sure what the difference between the two is though.

EDIT: A suggestion of my own - make URLs stand out somehow, either by underlining or by having them in a different colour (purple might work well, considering the colour scheme).

Good call! I must just be blind
Also, (regret asking for suggestions yet? :P ) a slightly larger avatar size would be nice, though I understand that is a design decision and could be obtrusive

I'd be down for a larger avatar size myself, I'll look into getting that to work.
And the URLs really need something more to make them stand out, I agree. It'll be a beast to find that in the CSS. I hate looking through other people's code. DX

When we make these changes, I will let you all know before hand. There is a risk that something could go wrong, as this is not my custom code that we're working with but it's actual software.

I could ask Jaret if he'd let us use his MLP emoticon pack, actually you can probably go ahead seeing as it was feature on ED.

(look at my test post for a few example ones, he's got like 12 or so of them up)

I'm really loving this community already

With a quick glance at the CSS it seems those links are contained in a div classed with "searchbar". Styling the <a> tags that match the searchbar class should work.

I've done some minor web work, so if there is ever any way I could help with the site, shoot me a message

Success! Not to take credit for the code, someone from here figured it out and provided the code. http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=2046455

Just post it like this:

[soundcloud]{URL}[/souncloud]

Use the long url provided. There's also a soundcloud bbcode button in the full editor.
