<pony><glitch/electronic/8-bit> Pinkie On Ice (A True Story)

Yep. Spent a long time on this one. Here's the description and movements. (The descent into madness' potential ear-hammering effect was very much intentional. You're supposed to feel like you need to turn it down... but don't. It's also NOT FOR EVERYONE, much like my Discord track not too long ago. There isn't supposed to be a real structure, and any random, sporadic sections were willingly placed where they are. I have been told I do weird music well, though...)

"Not every party ends with a smile and a hangover. (Movements noted below.)

First electronic song in a while, with a bit of my own flavoring for something a little different and eclectic. It's a dark one; you've been warned.

0:00 - 1:00 Let's Party!
1:03 - 1:30 Ecstasy, My Love
1:33 - 2:03 Crystalline Subjectivity
2:08 - 2:39 You Spin Me Right Round, Baby/The First Palpitation
2:40 - 3:23 Hypersensitivity/Awareness/OHGODWHATSHAPPENING
3:25 - 4:38 Okay, That's Definitely Not A Palpitation/The Spinning Room of Anti-Matter
4:40 - 4:58 Cardiac Arrest"

That fuzz at 2:50 scared me, I actually thought my studio monitors were breaking while playing this... but thats not the case, thank celestia.

I would never listen to this again because its so chaotic but I did 'enjoy' listening to it this one time, It was well produced and thought out and was fun to hear. I really like that synth you bring in at 1:19, its simple but sounds lovely. Thank you for an audibly interesting 5 minutes :D

Yeah, I'm starting to think my time on EqD is well and truly over ahaha. Of the past 4 songs I've done, I feel at least two of them deserved to be posted (and I'm really quite proud of this one). Ah well, keep on truckin'.

Its too bad really, but this particular song is much more difficult to listen to for the average listener so I can understand not seeing this one on EqD. Good luck though I dont have the experience with EqD to give you any real tips other then don't give up.

Also, don't feel bad about not getting on EqD. I haven't gotten all my tracks accepted to EqD. Just keep doing what you love!!

I don't have much of a comment on the actual track other than I felt like the music was trying to be very literal, but failed at getting across the right feeling.

I do have a question though: What other artists/composers do you enjoy listening to?

Cheers for the comments. (:

As for who I like listening to, composer-wise, I'm a HUGE fan of Chopin. My more 'modern' influences are in the form of Djent Metal/Progressive Rock (Between The Buried & Me, SikTh, Beardfish, Moon Safari, Dream Theater, etc.) and Electronic (Madeon, Deadmau5, Bassnectar, etc.) I'm also a huge fan of Jazznoise, e.g. Naked City, The Locust and a lot of John Zorn's solo work. Genre-wise, literally everything, but I'd narrow it down to Jazz, Djent, Progressive Rock, Classical Piano and anything discordant and off-the-charts.

People often ask why my more experimental tracks, such as this one, are so jarring, random and weird. I guess to answer that; my music is a culmination of my influences, and as someone with a very diverse taste in music, you have to expect difficulty in sticking to one style and keeping things conservative.

From what I could tell, is not only is this experimental, it is also very literal. I'd suggest listening to more genres where the music really tries to mirror the story trying to be told, like ballet or opera!

I kind of wanted it to be literal, though. Rarity Kills Sweetie Belle was the same, just with more emotion. I wanted this one to be cold, obvious and jarring. Many of the more experimental and obscure bands I listen to often do the same thing.

That's probably why they're still obscure, ahaha.

Exactly! Which is why I recommended you listen to other very literal genres of music.

Ah sorry, I read your last post wrong. :p

I'm also a fan of composing... darker-themed music. Can't really put my finger on why. RKSB was about Rarity murdering Sweetie Belle, Pinkie on Ice is about Pinkie overdosing on ice, Ma Jolie Rarity details her slow loss of sanity before RKSB and my Classical/Jazz piano tracks, while not dark per se', are quite solemn.
