Hi. My name is Matt, and I love Pinkie Pie!

I also love music, and thanks to these strangely addicting, colorful ponies, I have been constantly trying to make more for the past few months. I have no idea how these ponies inspired me to try and create so much, but they did!

I'm really looking forward to sharing a lot of awesome musical related stuff with everypony else here!

Well hi!

My name's Lewis.
I go by Poowis in most internet places, but make music under the alias of General Mumble, which tends to get confusing.

I'm just going to copy NC and list a few facts about my not-so-interesting self:

-I study Graphic Design, and to be honest, since I discovered my passion for making music, I have little interest in it anymore. I wish I studied something musical.

-This is the first forum I've ever posted in.

-Since ponies, my music creating has greatly increased.

-I use FL Studio to create everything I do, but I want to get used to using other things, too.

-Not only do I make electronic music, but also play a lot of drums (since I'm new to forum etiquette, I'm not going to post a shameless plug of my drum covers account right now).
Something, something, ponies.
Something, something, friendship.

Hey, I'm Supersaw Hoover, also known as Zovi or Zovistograt in other places. I make hardcore of all sorts, speedcore, etc. In other words, genres sorely lacking in the MLP remix community that seem to only be done by Renard. Let's not have him be the only one doing this, hm? [EDIT: apparently some ponies here make hardcore and the like. This is good news, indeed.]

I'm just slow/lazy making tracks and even slower remixing, since I'm not used to the difference in process.

Otherwise, my favorite pony is Pinkie Pie, my other hobbies are playing DDR, doing math, folding and playing old Nintendo games, and It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, everypony!

Good to meet you both!

Poowis: hope you didn't mind my shameless plug in the Site Feedback thread XD

Supersaw Hoover: Agreed, this community is sorely lacking in more of that sort of stuff.

I forgot my own introduction...
I'm majoring in art myself, and have recently been getting back onto music also, but I still love both. To be honest I'm far more comfortable with art than I am with music, but I want to be proficient in both.
-This is my first ever website, and I never thought my first site would be pony related!
-Ponies makes my creativity bloom like... a super nova 3 lightyears away from the Sol system.
-I've been composing since I was young, and have taken a lot of piano lessens back in the day. Somehow I managed to never learn how to read music.
-Back in the day I used FLstudio, but have recently made the switch to Cubase. I use it in conjunction with Kontakt (almost exclusively) with sound libraries such as Symphobia and LA Scoring Strings.

Favorite pony? Probably Rainbow Dash. But Rarity comes right after her.

Hi I'm Luke, Pinkie Cake.

I only got into music creation about a half year ago, that means I haven't got lots tracks and my skill have a lot to go more. Somehow it turns up that I learn about music creation more than I actualy create it :D

Some info (that is if you want to read it):
20 years old.
Currently studying audio visual design at a college, planing on studying audio engineering after these studies.
I listen to dubstep, drum and bass, speedcore, hardcore, jungle, glitchcore, experimental jungle, breakcore and anything Renard related.
I use Ableton Live for all of my works, sometimes a little Adobe Soundbooth for EQing and sample cutting. Sylenth1 and Massive are my favourite VST's.
Favourite pony: PINKIE PIE.

Great news for you good sir, my remix in Remix War II is kind of a speedcore.

Yay I love you

My remix in Remix War II has a speedcore part (like 16 bars of it), but I think my Trixie challenge track is going to be straight-up melodic speedcore. 400+ BPM is the way to go, after all.

hey! I've written some sort of stuff-core thing...before...I think...maybe....
actually I'm not even sure what qualifies. does this count? http://tindeck.com/listen/mkpd

Renard's stylings have rubbed off on me since I discovered him. <_<

also: what? everybody is actually giving information about themselves in their introduction?

fine. here goes:

-currently studying some sort of thing in college. (I'm not sure what I want to get into yet, just taking basic courses for now...)
-I listen to a bunch of random electronic stuff. a lot of my playlist is made of music from friends or people I know. (which is pretty cool in a way)
-been making noise since 2005. Been making music since about 2007. been making decent music since about 1 month ago.
-Open Modplug Tracker for me. all the time.
-Derpy is the best pony ever. you can't argue with her ambiguity~

oh and I have this really lonely facebook page that I always feel bad for plugging: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sounds-fr ... 0810523110
...but that's where you're most likely to catch me posting something I made.

Hi,

I'm Jeff.

I've been making music since mid April, so I'm practically an expert by now. Actually, it was MLP that got me into music again. I was in high school band but majored in Comp Sci in college and kind of dropped it.

I use FL Studio 10 and am still learning how to fully use it. I currently don't own any of the fancy VSTs that you all use, but Atlantis is really awesome. Take1 is my soundfont player currently.

I listen to most forms of electronic/dance. I really like progressive house and dubstep, though.

Vinyl Scratch is best pony, what with her three seconds of air time and all.

Nice to meet you all.

When it comes to Pony, I pretty much exclusively go with the name Derpy Hooves, though I'll occasionally use WherewolfTherepony (an edit of my normal name for pretty much everything else, WherewolfTherewolf). I prefer anonymity over giving out my actual name, even my first name.

I'm 18 and I will be attending university in August for Engineering

As for music I've played multiple instruments for varying periods of time starting with the clarinet 10 or so years ago, currently I pretty much exclusively play Bass Guitar and Guitar (aside from a few other stringed instruments that I dabble around with, sitar ftw), but they seldomly end up in my recordings due to difficulty with timing whenever I record myself (I hear other people have similar problems, but I've played with full bands before so I know it's not just that my timing's horrible - also I'm guessing it may have a little to due with latency, though interestingly enough it always ends up early so I'm guessing music playback is slightly delayed (actually I'm pretty sure of this, as it improves when I reduce the H/W buffer)), I had also played Saxophone for my school band but I never owned the instrument.

I work in Pro Tools 8.

As for stylistical influence, it's fairly interesting because the music I mainly listen to is alt-metal and rock (think Tool, A Perfect Circle, Karnivool, etc.) and yet most music I produce is some form of electronic or soundtrack oriented music, though over the past year or so I've really started broadening my music choice to include more electronic influenced music (really do enjoy chiptunes, they account for about half the music on my mp3 player atm). But when I write I just sort of write without a genre in mind so I can't necessarily pin myself on any sort of genre, I normally just call it "Electric." One thing I do like very much though is Dubstep, though my attempts at it quite often end up failing (this ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgLR-q1JINU ) is the closest thing I've come to dubstep and it's okay I guess, just not dubstep in it's own right (was really influenced by Acid electro when I was writing that, choicely Aphex Twin).

Best pony? hmmm tough choice, can't pick one specefically

I'm also a fan of pointlessly long-winded posts as you can probably already tell

Hi, I'm Voo.

I thought music was weird and it was never a part of my life [it sounded like absolute rubbish to me], but then my [ex-90s raver] mom exposed me to some quality music in my early years and my deep fascination with the sounds, emotion and magic the artists produced aspired me to become a noise-maker myself [note: I had absolutely no musical knowledge which probably contributed to that], and I've been committed to doing so ever since without slowing down.

My sole purpose in noise making is to be able to do it like they do, though it's turned into more of a satisfaction thing over time. In the end I felt it was my way of contributing to earth and this human community I was born into, and doing so defines my purpose and existence.

I'm 16 now and am a senior in high school. My taste is far and wide [I have 12k+ songs on my playlist], I enjoy things like the other-worldly emotions of Boards of Canada to the beach sambas of Astrud Gilberto to the obscure grooves of Satanicpornocultshop, etc. Anyone at school who digs through my iPod often complains they know none of the artists, haha. My biggest influences [and I mean biggest] have to be Dj Shadow, Aphex Twin, Fatboy Slim, Dan Deacon, and Jhonen Vasquez [he's not music related, but he's a huge influence on me]. Remnants of these artists show throughout my work. Tiesto was the reason I listened to music in the first place but I took him off the influence list because I realized I never actually listened to him, but his ISOS cd's which played a major role in my life.

And yeah... that's all I've got, haha.

Favorite pony: Spitfire. All the way.

We'll be officially announcing the forum when the deadline for Remix War round 2 wraps up. (I swear, if Seth puts up another picture of Lyra for this round I'm going to..... bake him some dry biscuits). We wanted to give the site to you guys early since you're participants in the event.
Celestia Radio has already agreed to link to us as well. If you know any other sites that could do the same, let me know!

NC, have we had any consideration for posting this site on EQ earlier than June 2nd?

mfw, you're proficient in of the craziest programs I've ever tried.

MaxMsp is just otherworldly. It makes Native Instrument''s Reaktor look like playing with Legos.

If its true you understand how that thing works, Congrats - your IQ is /definitely/ higher than mine.

Two years of professional schooling really does work wonders :D

I only know the tip of the iceberg of Max - I don't *truly* understand how it works (nopony does) - but I can make it do what I want, generally. But yeah, there is NO WAY I would have learned it if my degree program didn't offer a really extensive course about it.
