hahaha... I don't care i'm gonna go ahead and read it anyway :3 I'll definitely get the games when I get my laptop though

Don't feel like i'm far enough to give a proper recommendation, but It's certainly been an interesting read so far.

Well sucks to hear that Hasbro issued a cease & desist letter against Jan Animations, but not too surprising. Very sad, but you fly too high to the sun and you get burned. :(

Dude no way! Jan was one of my favorites. He makes the best show-like quality animations.

Hasbro! Y U B So uncool?

I wonder if Hasbro would be different of mlp wasn't a show for little girls. Because I'm pretty sure they only do this because they don't want parents of children to find these animations made by anything other than Hasbro peoples

It does seem like a bit of an overreaction on Hasbro's part, seeing as Jan (presumably) wasn't making money off of this. If he had his youtube monitized though, from a copyright point of view he woulda been in the wrong. But again, to be fair, that monitization would amount to maybe $400-ish a month at most. Idk it's kinda convuluted from a moral standpoint, and the copyright laws kind of require action on the IP owner's part at times, so I wouldn't really jump the gun too much.

Oh and nothing is stopping Jan from animating again. He's already been doing it for years, one project dying wouldn 't stop him forever. I mean, he'd be bummed and all but it's not like they stole his tablet and handcuffed his drawing hand or anything.

You can't use official trademarked characters in animations that are Hasbro level. They stop being fannon and start becoming copyright infringements.
Image
You need to be authorized and liscenced IF you aim that high (like the MLP comic and everything on WeLoveFine) which Jan Animations was not doing. Who knows, maybe they can work something out or sell a bootleg DVD at bronycons at least. I've put my thoughts here and here. It's a shame but I'm not really that surprised this was going to eventually happen.

I think it would be super cool IF jan was able to work out an agreement with Hasbro to officially create buttons adventures sponsored by Hasbro legally. Like there are Hasbro sponsored comics, then jan would be able to have sponsored mini-episodes. And they would not air on tv, but they could air in the hub website and YouTube and or in DVD/blueray. Idk, a perfect world would do that. (This is only wishful thinking)

The little bits of my MLP-Myst crossover fanfic that I've yet written can be erased because I found that it's all wrong.
Aight.

:3

Knowing me it'll take ages before it's anywhere near done xD
Basically I wanna replicate Myst's story, but with Equestria instead of Earth, ponies instead of humans (including the D'ni people themselves), and some pony I have yet to decide for The Stranger (the anonymous player, hereby no longer anonymous and no longer mute). I wanna make it as accurate as possible.

You could write the whole thing in second person. Then, every once in a while, give them a choose-your-own adventure style choice. Like:

"To take the red page go to this chapter. To take the blue page go to this chapter. If you want to open the green book, go to this chapter."

Edit: I might as well start putting together my fic plans. I plan on writing during Camp NaNoWrimo (which starts on April 1st.)

Hahaha xD thing is, I really don't like giving the reader a choice in such matter. I want the story to be fixed, that The Stranger would become known, and doesn't get lead around by the reader, but instead uses the logic implied by everything from the story of the games that makes The Stranger make the right choices. Like the player making only the right choices.

On a different subject, I just saw a Dutch Jazz group on TV that amazed me quite a lot. The track they played, Drifts, had a beautiful, free, Ambient-like feel. The story of the track was immense too. Loud weather striking the snow-covered dunes.
They also played Quarreling, about an ongoing argument that doesn't stop, with alternations between highs and lows.
