[Compilation Album] Soulless Afternoons (RELEASED)

Postby VINXIS » 16 Jan 2014 22:31

(I only put the thread here because I don't know how many people are actually willing to take part in this so yea, mods feel free to move : D)

STREAM IS OVER... AND ALBUM IS RELEASED

Image cover by jokull

Image alt cover by mahsio

The concept of this album is based on bringing a typical dull day full to life with (mostly) soft-like music to give a touch of colour in the day. To give some nice new music into people's life B^)

The album's main genres are (but not limited to):
Ambient (such as chillout, downtempo, IDM, e.t.c.)
Orchestral
Drum and Bass (mostly Liquid DnB but really almost all EDM genres would be fine as long as they fit the soft feel)
and
Acoustic (like soft/alt. rock and new wave, or even literally just guitar)

HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF SOME SONGS:
https://soundcloud.com/uppermost/independent (good song very good if you can make something like that with that kind of level of mixing and mastering than yea 10/10 u pass)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ae2TWxQ2L4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lq7mFFnpI8o (if you're actually going to the do the chillout hau5)
might add more... (basically most of what you'd hear on mrsuicidesheep/suicidesheeep)

Remixes were CERTAINLY allowed. No question tbh.

The maximum limit you could've submitted (original, remix, features, and/or collaboration) was 2.

Just a couple questions:

1. Will this be a free album or not. If so where will the funds go?
2. I can make a post on fimmusic.tumblr if you like, but not sure if you have any covers / images ready to go yet.
3. I'd recommend going through this post just in case you've underthought any level of what's needed running this event. A skype chat woould really help you unless it becomes a spam fest.
4. Otherwise good luck, it looks like a nice idea if its run well.

ye I looked through that post while making the post jic

forgot to say, it's going to be put on mediafire because it's going to be a completely free album.

Mahsio is make a cover for the album at the moment, it'll be done quite soon enough.

And there's a skype group chat so as long as it won't become spam infested (3rd last line in the op)

Time to see if people like my Ambient creations.

I'm in. And god bless your soul for that deadline <3

And boy that album art is sexy! The color scheme is lovely too, maybe just a tad melancholic. But I like it!

I might actually get in on this one. May 20th is definitely a deadline I can hit; it gives me plenty of time to finish what I'm working on now and more. I've been needing to try something low key anyways.

I have a dumb question, VINXIS, since I'm new to this: would there be any problem with me releasing whatever I write on my own prior to the album's release? I don't like letting finished stuff sit unposted for too long without good reason.

And a question for everyone else: would someone want to help me kill two birds with one stone and try a collab? That's also something I have yet to do.

Orchestral. http://www.youtube.com/user/CitricAcidMusic

I've already got a project I'm working on right now, so it will be at least a few weeks before I can really think about doing a collab.

Oooooh, another orchestral person! I was actually thinking of making some sort of jazz for this, but I would love to collab when you are available, whenever that may be.

I also make orchestral music and might have enough time for a collab, if anyone is interested.
