Remix War VII: When Genres Collide

Might be getting a little ahead, but speaking of the next one: how often are these things going to go down? Every three months; every two months....

Honestly in the past they were a summer thing. It doesn't have to be that way of course. But with Season 4 starting in the near future I'd think we wouldn't do another one until after the season concludes. We'll have ample cannon to make music off of during that time so there should be no shortage of fannon.

I think that's a logical plan.

Hey guys. I totally missed the deadline but I still made a remix. Here it is, if you are interested (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh19HIhFuTQ).

I actually didn't felt bad about missing it before I've started to write this. Now, when I have to admit it in front of people who cares about this event, I feel sorry. I don't know if I should, but I kinda do. Sorry guys, if I failed you (sounds really overdramatic, I don't feel that sorry, but still).

Unfortunately, I'm probably gonna miss the stream due to work. Oh well. I hope you guys have fun!

Heh, I actually made the deadline this time! Looking forward to the stream. What's the IRC channel?

Also, I'm kinda glad this event isn't any bigger than some of the longer Toastbeards.

Do I make the track public after the stream?

My assumption is that this will be the case though I'll let Stars comment because this is his thing. Original date was 10/1 to publish but I don't know why we would wait another 9 days to publish if the stream is today.

In the past EQD has done a feature for RMW and we've zipped the tracks all together (for the earlier/smaller ones) for those who wanted to check it out. I hope we can do the same. I guess they currently have a story on the sync so should be a good turnout.

More current news is likely in the sync thread i have found.

So are we allowed to make our songs public right now? Or should we wait until the stream?

RW1 - '11 may 20 - jun 10 (21 days)
RW2 - '11 jun 19 - jul 2 (13 days)
RW3 - '11 jul 13 - jul 30 (17 days)
RW4 - '11 aug 22 - sep 17 (26 days)

RW5 - '12 jul 20 - sep 1 (43 days)
RW6 - '12 i cannot even (math cannot even)

RW7 - '13 aug 11 - sep 16 (36 days)

it did fluctuate quite a bit (also i'm seeing a pattern)
Also, summer's only preferable because then you're usually utilizing your free time (if you have that, that is) instead of making music while having to study (and possibly working, that's double the time eater, at least usually, no school in the summer)

imho RW8 should run from Jun 1 to Sep 1, give it the whole 3 months; at least one entry can be made with such a lax deadline (92 days)

i'd go for a plush lyra :3 (though, don't really know if this should indeed become competitive; granted it probably would garner more refined entries (i think) and more serious stuff, but... not sure if that should be the "spirit" of the RW-s)...

Maybe that could be a separate event? It would be pretty cool to have a prize, but you're right, I dunno if that goes with the spirit of the remix wars.

It's fine, I think Stars redid all the mp3 tags so they'd be uniform; loved your track by the way. Kinda soft and needed more articulations but still nice nevertheless :)

Thank's man, that's a weight off my shoulders. I didn't get to attend the livestream because of my brother's birthday (he just turned 4) so I only got to read the IRC in retrospect and not being able to respond to the comments really made me anxious. Needless to say, my goof did cause some confusion :)
