I'm thinking about buying it to play around with the performance mode in FL Studio, but when I tried the performance mode with my Midi keyboard, it didn't work at all. Is the performance mode designed to work with only launchpads? I don't want to buy something that won't work as I want it to.

I doubt the Performance mode of FL Studio would be so strictly limited to Launchpads. Seeing as the Launchpad is so popular, it's a given that FL Studio's performance mode will support them. You might want to see their customer service if you're having problems.

From what I recall, FL 11 has a few performance mode templates for controllers besides the launchpad.

I know it works with the Launchpad just fine, but I'm not sure if it's compatible with MIDI keyboards unless you use some MIDI learn stuff. Don't know what else to tell you about it.
Anyway with the price being $100 for a fat row of non velocity-sensitive pads and nothing else, its alright (they're hardly pads if they're not velo sensitive)
Personally, even tho i could buy 6 launchpads for its price, I want dat Push, even if all it uses is ableton.
Wouldn't get mashine
Tbh the launchpad would be enough if i was making a performance get up, that and my big m-audio keyboard.
I'm pretty sure it would work with most things. I dicked around with performance mode and TouchOSC on my iPod Touch and it worked flawlessly. (The app is £5.99 and iPad compatible btw, and in my opinion pretty worth the money).
