A remix of Alex S.'s very popular "Melting Pot of Alcohol".

Hmm ... I'm not quite certain taking a famous brony song like "For The New Lunar Republic," mixing around the sections, and adding a few random kicks really quite constitutes a "remix." (referring to the other track on your 'album' of course)

For that matter, charging money for something that samples someone else's work without their explicit consent is uh ... not cool? At the very least, you're entering murky waters, and it could get you into serious trouble.

EDIT: Deleted everything here because my comments were too harsh and what needs to be said has already been said

All right, so be it, both of y'all.

What steps do y'all recommend for me to repair my album? Destroying it all and never getting near remixing again? Shutting down the site, deleting my account, and disappearing into the night?

No, I recommend learning what a "remix" is, and how to properly make one, with something a little bit more advanced than audacity... I mean, how do you think us musicians make remixes????

Go learn some musical theory, how to make notes, how notes work, what a chord progression is, how to improvise, how to design sounds, how to make drumbeats and how to make music in general, not ripping off other people's songs.

Music making is the result of massive amounts of patience, hard work, dedication, knowledge and effort.

Destroying it all is actually a good start. The rest of that is taking it too far. I think Josh tried to get across a fundamental idea though, which I will paraphrase:

Remixing is about addition.

What you've done is taken the stems of Alex's song and put then in a different order, occasionally apply effects. If you hadn't had these stems, how would you have gone about remixing the idea? When I remix a song, the only samples I try and get are vocals. That way, everything else will be me trying to add my own take to those sounds, to develop a new song that diverges from the original.

So, I guess my advice to you is this: If you haven't already, learn some things about both music Composition (theory, arrangement and genre specific elements) and music production (software, sound generation, mixing). From there, try to make a song your own.

The world doesn't need any more "DJ Keo"s.

Please excuse my trolly comment from earlier. I was trying to find humor in all of this.

I DO have some serious suggestions though.

1. Everything pinkie guy said. SO much.

2. Unless you really need money and you actually think you have a fan base large enough to want to buy any music you make, you should release songs you make for free. You can still upload to bandcamp as a sort of donate option, but what you probably should be doing is uploading to youtube instead and include downloads of your song in the description.

3. Make sure you stay humble. If you are making music, it should be because you love making music, not for money or some other reason.
