<WIP><Remix><DnB> Navron - Hail to the Queen

Postby Motivfs » 27 Jun 2013 18:16

Just a remix I've been working on for a while coming back to it while trying out a few new things. Feedback is appreciated as always, also don't mind the ending, just a little something I added there for the hell of it. Probably will remove it upon completion.

its not that bad ^^ i like the creepy vibe. although some of the mixing could be improved, i think it was pretty good. the vocals were interesting.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, I must say I might've tipped this time around the mixing part, that's why it's still labeled a "WIP", it's almost done but I always want to get a few tips here and there before I finally complete it.

I guess with the mixing element being weaker this time around, the reason would be because I've tried to make a better overall sounding song, adding in a lot more elements and trying to keep it less stale as it progresses. I really wanted to add a good second half this time around unlike my previous songs which basically repeated on the second part. I hope that I've accomplished that to a better extent, maybe not as good as I want to so far (there is still work to be done!) but definitely something that people could enjoy.

Anywho, thanks for the feedback once again!

This was really good Motivfs!
I'll add more in depth feedback tomorrow, it's really late here (if I remember)
Personally, I think the drop came on a bit too suddenly. After the huge buildup, the drums just sort of 'appeared'. I think some crashes or FX would fill in some space and fill it out.
Also during the drop, when you switch to the bass which oscillates in pitch, it switches from having the chords to just bass quite jarringly. Keeping the chords there, or having some nice filtered delay in there, or reverb can remedy this
I loved it though!

Thanks Prop!

I'll definitely take note on both the drums after the drop, as well as the chords and adding some more filtered delay/FX in there. I'll give it a try because I noticed the cymbals/rides in the second half actually evened out the song quite well, which in turn, going back to the first half probably left that feeling that it's quite bare in terms of percussion after that first drop.

Thanks for your input!
