Dashing Rainbows (Original)

Postby Flaedr » 25 Nov 2011 04:10

Oh man, the first thing I'm showing off... so nervous right now...

Anyways, this is a little song I had to make for a friend, and he requested for it Wednesday, but the thing is, he needed it by the beginning of Friday (Today). And considering that it was Thanksgiving, I really did not have too much time to do this. But, I somehow got it done in time, and I present to you, my first song on here, Dashing Rainbows.

(I know it's repetitive at the end, but once again, not much time to do this)

Hey, welcome to the forums!

This was quite a nice piece! Interesting use of harmonies in places, I wasn't expecting them, considering it's about Rainbow...

Thoughts for improving:
1) Reverb, the strings sound really dry, so maybe add some reverb? Or add more if you already have?
2) Voices, I only heard, maybe two voices at once, tops, throughout the piece. If you want to make something more interesting, add more voices!
3) Repetition, you've already stated this, so I won't say any more!

That's my 5 minute analysis! Enjoy!

Oh and a good start, I hope to see more from you!

I like that this is a mix of the synphonic and electronic, it really works that way. I think Dr Dissonance's critique's are valid if you want to take it to the next level (remix it once more) but this is good overall.
