I've got no idea why it's so thin though. Anyone have any ideas?

More reverb is the answer.

Honestly, I don't know, there seems to miss a lot, reverb would be the first way to go, then probably a few layers and different sounds, to make it more polyphonic.

Else a nice attempt.

I hear a lack of bass. As in, there doesn't seem to be a proper bassline. At least, I can't hear it. You might want to bring it way up. Your snares are cool, keep them! (And tell me how you did them)

But yeah, it sounds very brittle. You need a lot more low end to balance it out. Start there, and see where it takes you. (But seriously, let me in on those snares)
