POLKA!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!! YES!!!!!! THIS IS OASEJGLSADIJFALKSDFJSAJF!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, thank you very much for choosing to make polka, I <3 polka.
I do take lots of inspiration from polka in my music, but I produce it with synths and stuff, so a bit different there.
I'd say this is some fairly decent polka. It dose have a few areas to improve tho:
I would have used a tighter bass drum around 0:26, if I where playing it live I would use my hand to mute the drum, you could just cut the sample short though... idk, sound should be shorter imo.
Same goes for most other places with many consecutive bass drum hits, I'd probably mute them.
I'd also a bunch of anacrusis (a word I only knew in swedish until I googled it just now) to the accordion, which is: a few notes played before a bar leading into the new note, melody, whatever.
Lastly I can't stress the importance of cheezy percussion enough! Add woodblocks, add anvils, add a jaw harp, add noise-makers of all shapes and sizes! There is nothing more polka than one of those slidey flutes you play with as a kid!
Anyway. Nice to hear someone doing polka :)
(if you ever wanna do a polka colab, just pm me B^)
