I've had a massive musicians block for a while now, and this is the first piece I've finished in nearly a month. It turned out fairly well, even though I had to use an unholy amount of atmosphere samples.

Hi,

I really liked the drums, the panning on the hats in particular. The strings at the beginning could use another lower layer for extra impact, but this is a very effective blending of an orchestral sound with dubstep. Well done!

This is very well put together for what it is. I thoroughly enjoy the melody in your lighter strings. The orchestral parts blend well with the electronic stuff. I think going pure D n B would perhaps have served you better. The drops and wobbles didn't really add anything for me, but I really liked what happened before the drop.

The ending is very elegant. I usually don't care for abrupt endings like that, but this works, being as staccato as it is (Is that the right term?)

I would have added another layer but sadly the string section stops after Double Bass and I was playing the lowest register possible in that instrument. Thanks for the feedback though; I'll probably add a sub next time maybe.

Liked the mix of the drums with the orchestral, sounded pretty underground and shit. Really liked how developed and nice it sounded, with all the sounds complimenting eachother nicely. It was a nice mix between intense and dramatic.

All was well up till 1:20. There wasnt really much contrast between the two parts in terms of volume. I feel like it should have stopped up before it progressed. Your basses are pretty underdeveloped, it sounds very gritty, which is fine in the right amount, but with no clean sounds inbetween them, it just sounds messy. Its also mixed rather poorly here, the third syunthstab is WAY loud for instance and the drums, esspecially the kick drowns under them. Heavier sidechaining helps with that. The synths you're trying to make sounds rather stock too.

Honestly, I'd be without the dubstep bass part to be honest, and just supplement a simpler bass and do something more similar to what you did in the first part. It just seems like that part was added just cuz "Oh, I want dubstep orchestra"

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I know I need quite a lot of work with my electronic mixing. I still have a hard time getting the right balance between loud and drowning everything out. I'll definitely be working on that more in the future. I was trying to do something in the style of Two Steps from Hell's "All Drones go to Hell."

I don't do a lot with pure D'n'B, but I'll experiment with it for future songs. I need more work with my electronic mixing. Thanks for taking the time to write up this. :D
(Also, the technical name would be marcatto but I call it staccato too; comes from playing piano)
