I'm gonna jot some notes down as I listen. I'm gonna listen to Awoken because its the only one I'm familiar with.
-Better samples would really help
-Watch your dynamics, particularly on the piano
-The use of guitar is questionable, pizzicato strings would fit the mood better
-It gets pretty muddy, you have too many instruments occupying the same frequency range
-The string staccatos at around 1:20 are way to loud. They aren't taking the melody, and shouldn't be the loudest instrument.
-I'm unclear which section of the orchestra is supposed to be leading. It's OK, and in fact one of the best things you can do to change up timbre throughout the song, but each part of the song should have one section taking the lead.
-Your brass sounds too much like strings, it should parpy-er if that makes any sense.
-The tuned percussion at 3:30 is kinda cool, but it is way to all over the place. It's a cool effect, just too much of it.
-Try to transition between parts of the song smoother, if you look at the waveform you can clearly see where you basically stopped the music to change between parts.
-Basically dynamics throughout the entire thing need to be improved a bit. It's all the same volume. A lot of the impact of orchestral comes from transitions from piano to forte and vice versa.
-Oh, and where are the woodwinds?
Overall its pretty good, just doing as you asked and tearing it apart. If you need any clarification feel free to ask. I'd love to hear an original from you.
