Ok, so after a long period of procrastination I finally got around to making a profile on here. Hopefully now I can get to know you all better!

Ok, that's out of the way, what do you think of this song? I'm pretty new to music and have pretty much zero knowledge of music theory, so I'm not sure what to ask for other than general advice.

Edit: fixed the link since I changed it to private. This is still the original song, check below for newest version.

Your mix is very dry, you might want to add some very subtle reverb to give it a sense of space. See here to see what I mean; listen very closely to the samples in "Setting Reverb Time". It's not a reverb you hear, but "feel" subconsciously.

The drums, particularly the toms, are a bit overpowering, I'd lower their volume a bit.

You clearly don't know theory, as you use lots of chromatics and no set scale, but that somehow works for this song.
oops I dropped the bass

will you pick it up for me

Thanks! I see what you mean, adding reverb and bringing the drums down a bit does help.

And yeah, I already said I don't know theory. At this point, I'm just going with what sounds good. I'm starting to study it now, but had I started before having any experience with music I would've had a harder time understanding it. Just the way my mind works, I think.

Here's the new version, after making the changes you suggested as well as some I thought of on my own.

I'm mostly putting this here to show progress, but I'll still take critique if you want to give it.
