<pony><mashup> Shining Armor at the Gala

I hope I'm doing this right....

Ok, so this is my first time doing electronica, and my first time using FL Studios. As such, any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Why is this called a mashup? When I think of mashup, I think of two more more songs blended together, perhaps with a simple unifying track holding them together.

It's BBBFF and At the Gala. Sorry if I'm doing it wrong, but I figured that made a mashup haha

Sorry, but it sounds nothing like either of those songs.

Also, I would avoid using the default FL Studio drums in the future.

I see. Disappointing, but ah well. Any ideas what I should categorize this as, then? I know it's not original because I did include plenty of parts of both songs, whether it's clear or not. Is it a remix, then, despite being two songs? I see there's not a reimagining tag...

I'll keep that in mind. As I said, this is my first foray into electronica, so I figured it'd be best to start with the presets and play with everything as I go.

It doesn't really matter if there's a tag for exactly what it is; meaning, you can put pretty much anything in those tags if you wanted to, as long as it's proper. I personally say you would categorize this as an original, seeing as I couldn't recognize either of the songs used. I may, however, just be missing them, as I haven't heard those songs in 5-6 months.

Playing with presets and all is perfectly fine, there's nothing wrong with it (they're there for a reason, after all), I was just meaning to point out that FL Studio's default drums are very recognizable and many people consider them "noobish".

Hmm. Well, it's mainly the melodies and chords. Perhaps they're less obvious without the original instruments.

That's fair. I actually have a recommendation for a drum VST (Drumpad), so I'll try working with that one next time.
