Thinking about building something out of this.

Sorry y'all, never posted here before. If I'm breaking any unspoken rules (or regularly written rules!) that's my bad. Anyways, I put together a little tune that I'm liking ( https://soundcloud.com/beedeezips/little-tune-thing ), but I'm completely new to all this.

I tried to vary up the lower grand piano chords but I'm questioning it so I included those at the beginning, the original kinda bland bass chords I was doing originally come second. What do you think of those?

Anyways, just looking for opinions. I want to build off something that I think might get some decent feedback. Thanks guys.

OH and if it's any addition, I'm using default Ableton Live 9 stuff right now, I'll be using different instruments later on but I'm just working on a tune for now. If you have any advice or anything whatsoever, please let me hear it.

The piano is a bit soft relative to the bass.

For the chords themselves, the ones at the beginning do sound more complex. A deep reverb or echo effect on the original chords would probably reduce the "bland" feeling you get from the originals. You might not want to use the original chords in the main part of your song, but they might sound good during an outro. Also, the chords around 5 and 13 seconds sound odd.

Overall, I think it's a great start.

I don't think it is. It's probably just the way the chords are played that makes it sound familiar to me.

Nope nope nope, it's the same as Open Your Eyes by Aviators. I feel like a complete fool.

Oh well. Hey at least I can the notes in my head down in a DAW! Silver linings.
