What's up?

I'm MuffinsOnStrike and I'm kinda new to the forums (As you can see). xP

I made a remix of "A True, True Friend" not long ago. It's literally the 2nd remix I've done and I really appreciate your feedback!

For remix #2, this is pretty good. My first few were complete piles of rubbish.

Some issues:
Firstly, the vocals are off-time. You either need to do some time-stretching to make them fit with the tune better, or just change the flow of the track overall.
Next, there needs to be more of everything. There needs to be more parts going on at once; melodies, counter-melodies, percussion: use whatever sounds good to fill the frequency spectrum. Spend as much time as you can with sound design (creating the sounds themselves); this will get you familiar with what each type of waveform sounds like, what the envelopes do, and how parts mix.
When you have vocals, you want to keep the background simple until the vocals are finished/paused. You did that, so kudos for that. But it needs to be a bit more complex, like with pads and simple melodies; the background needs to be simple, yet dance-able and catchy.
You did a good job about this, but I feel it should be mentioned specifically: be very liberal in your use of FX. I like to go over-board with all of the effects, then I remove them one-by-one until it sounds natural and flows. Things like crashes, reverse cymbals, random sound effects, etc...
Lastly, (this is just a tip in general) just experiment with everything. Take your time; the goal is not to make a new song, but to get better. Anyone can make a song, but good music comes from people who are always trying to improve.

**Sorry if I sounded like a dick, I am only trying to help you get better. I've only been producing for a year, but there is so much that I've learned that I wish I knew when I started. Just keep working at it. ^_^ **
