EDIT: Uploaded a new demo with vocals (which I really want to retake, as it sound like crap and clips at some spots) and the fading out solo.

A while ago, before the trailer for Equestria Girls was even released, I wrote this sort of an encouragement song, to convince people to give the movie a chance; to not "be fooled by appareances", "judge it by it's cover" - two very cliché lines from the lyrics. I guess it's still relevant though, as it's not out yet and I still see the odd people whining about it.

This demo doesn't have vocals, nor the fading out solo I intend to improvise at the end, so I'm seeking critique on my mix and the composition for the most part. Go ahead and tell me what I could improve.

Or, you know, the movie could suck like we are all expecting, and that means that everyone just blew their money on supporting a cruddy product. It's just as fool-hardy if not more to just expect this is going to turn out great before it even comes out.

Anyway, the instrumental here is solid, I think you did a good job.

It's not the trailer people are complaining about. It's EQG in general, people have been complaining for long before the trailer, and the trailer did little to defuse existing judgements one way or another.

At least not that I can tell, I'm no mixing expert. We still need to see how it turns out with vocals, and I could give further critique from there.

Update: Added vocals and a guitar solo at the end. I want to retake the vocal track because it clips at spots, it's a bit off with the lead guitar (I usually play while singing and it sounds pretty nice that way, the vocal melody locks in with the guitar) and the technique isn't too good. You guys think so, or am I being too hard on myself?

EDIT: Just figured out I gotta use my head voice for these notes - and what the head voice is and how to use it. Definitely retaking them.

Yeah, the vocals aren't great, but I've heard worse, and I'm mean. They sound a bit muffled as well.
