I've Got To Find a Way REMIX and Introduction

Postby Bare Back » 16 Mar 2013 19:53

hello
I made a remix of "I've Got To Find a Way" from the series 3 finale. Its progressive house but i dislike calling it that cause its a mix between house and trance so whats wrong with Trouse?? its what me and my mates have been calling it since we heard it.
Anway heres the song i hope you enjoy it :D

Since this is my first post i thought i'd also introduce myself a bit.

My name is Tom (not thomas) but my friends call me ginge because i have the rarest of hair colours and no soul, i'm from the north-east of england where the geordie shore is filmed (a fact i'm not proud of but a fact nonetheless) but i live in scotland atm for university where i study music technology.

I started DJing when i was 15 and got into production when i was aboot 17, i started out making hard dance (and still do from time to time) and i'm currently signed to two labels (Digital Entity and D-Day recordings), a remix of my track once got to number 1 on trackitdown's hardstyle charts 8-)

Recently i've been getting into complextro, electro, trouse and all the styles with the word "dub" or "step" in it so natural i started making it and since theres such a vast difference between what i'm use to making and what i want to make i'm having a little bit of difficulty but hopfully people won't notice :P

anyway if you red this all the way through then thanks and I hope it wasn't too much of a bore, feel free to message me if you wanna chat or ask something.

Cheers
Tom

The chords at the beginning are nice, but HOLYSHIT the vocals have waaaaaay too much reverb them. The breakdowns feel a bit empty, I'd have a soft bass with them, to fill some of the space. The whole thing is a bit repetitive, you're repeating the same synths and melodies for most of it. The part at 2:46 feels like it should have more energy, so maybe add some percussive elements like eighth note high hats? The tape stop-like effect that happens around 3:30ish is cool.

Like I said, the main problem is it's the same melodies and chords through the whole thing, don't be afraid to change it around a bit. It'll make for some more variation.

Also, you might find that your introduction will work better here.

Thanks for the feedback, i'll be sure to take it into account when am working on my next song :D and your right it is very repetitive but most tracks in this style are (unforchantly). That "tape stop" bit came at pure random, i was C&Ping and the automation fucked up and gave me that so i kept it.

Thanks for telling me where to put my mild introduction as well, i can't forum good.
