This is well made, but the mood of the melody is pretty much not the mood of the original song. The song overall reminds me of Mexico.

Also, do you ever get people buying your songs from itunes or google play?

Flamenco music most commonly in the phrygian mode, which is a natural minor scale with a flat 2, so it sounds very minor. It was definitely my intention to stray from the original feeling of the song to give it a more Spanish feel (not Mexican).

For all my music, I obtain compulsory mechanical licenses to sell the songs, so I pay royalties to the composer(s) and publisher(s) for every song sold. Since I'm paying to do everything 100% legally, it takes a little while for me to break even. But the majority of my songs are profitable. Of the 3 places my songs are available for purchase, iTunes is by far the biggest seller.

Um... how, exactly? No offense, but I can't see a My Little Pony flamenco arrangement becoming profitable under any circumstances.

Yeah, how often do your songs sell? I can already guess that they aren't selling like hotcakes, but by the way you're talking, it sounds like they're selling quite a few.

I'm not gonna post my exact sales numbers, but after taking into account the licensing fees, royalties, Paypal fees, and online store fees, I only need to sell about 70 copies of a song at 99-cents each for me to break even. Some generous people pay more than than the dollar I ask for, which is an option on Bandcamp.

Right now on Youtube, I have about 2,500 subscribers and 200,000 video views. 11 of my 16 Youtube videos have been featured on Equestria Daily, so a lot of people have heard my music. All it takes is 70 of those viewers to be generous enough to buy that song, then I break even. Obviously, some songs are more popular than others, but that's just the nature of the business. I've found that as long as a song is inexpensive, easy to download legally, and professional quality, it's not too tough to find 70 people to purchase one.

As far as I know, I'm the only brony musician that actually goes through the process of acquiring licenses to sell pony songs. In addition to all the paperwork involved in getting a license, the songs must also be 100% original recordings, meaning there can't be any samples from the show used in it. No using an auto-tuned version of Cadance's vocal track from This Day Aria, no adding your own vocals over the background track from At the Gala, not even a single "yay" from Fluttershy, otherwise you can't get a compulsory mechanical license to sell it.

Did you actually record the guitar yourself or was this done within a sample library?

I have to commend you on your playing if this is played by you, its great, and probably the best take on that song I've heard to date.

Yes, it was me playing my Martin DX1K acoustic guitar with an LR Baggs M1 Active pickup. I really don't like the sound of sampled guitars and I try to use as many live instruments as possible for all my songs, since live instruments will always sound better.

To be fair, it took me a whole lot of takes until I played it exactly how I wanted it to sound, so my guitar skills aren't really as great as they sound in the recording. If I attempted to play the song live, I'm sure I'd fail horribly.

It means a lot to me that you think it's the best take on the Laughter Song that you've heard. Thanks! :D
