All Fine

Episode three response, made while very quite ill. I don't remember making this.

Also you can sort of feel the illness radiating from it.

I thought this was one of the stronger TB entries. The effects you apply to the vocal samples are so amazing. May I ask what you did to those samples at 0:46 to both get that cool sound to it as well as portamendo effect?? Is it just a subtle vocoder like the soundcloud comment suggests?

Also, I really like the synth lead that plays during the vocal portions. Amazing song!

EDIT: Oops! I kind of go up the thread list of unread threads/posts and realized this is the old version. OH WELL! My question still stands.

Nope, there's no vocoder. It's FL10's built in Newtone tool. Which is sorta like Melodyne, but not as full-of-uses.
Well, for that part, particularly the bend at the end, there are three harmonised layers of her voice, two of them pitch bend upwards, one pitch bends downwards. The strings in the background also pitch bend downwards to give the downwards voice bend strength.

Glad you enjoy it, too!

Bwahahah, I learned something new.

So at first I was all upset that you used Newtone, because I have the Producer's version of FL Studio, which only has a demo of that and won't let you export the samples to a channel. And it costs 100 bucks. But then I had the idea of just playing whatever sample I had loaded into the demo and having Edison on the same mixer track recording. So it records whatever I play out of Newtone. I can then just export as normal. Nice one Image-Line!

Thanks for explaining how you did that effect! I'll totally have to use that in a future song because it sounds sweet.
