<Non-Pony><Original> Creek of Sorrows (Live Piano)

I'm walking in a dark forest.. the sun shines bright, but none hits my skin as the trees above me cloud the earth below. A small creek flows through the forest, and I sit next to it, watching the water pass by. I look to my left, but no one is there. Not anymore.

Would love any feedback, this is my first live piano recording. =)

Ah... It is truly refreshing to feast my ears on some live recordings every few eternities or so...
A job well done. Recorded well, written nicely, and the player's skill shows (despite the song not being technically difficult, per se).

However, a few critiquing points:
The same motif is reused constantly; this may be a matter of taste, but I found myself becoming progressively less interested in the piece, and it felt nearly grating by the piece's end.

Furthermore, I'm not connecting the piece with the title, nor the phrases you've written. You're not really projecting anything forest-like nor inspiring of a creek. It feels more wistful than anything else. (The lack of variation makes this more of a problem).
I would advise you to employ "musical onomatopoeia", if there is such a thing, e.g., employ direct mimicry of a babbling brook with the piano, or mimic natural phenomena one might find in a forest (such as zephyrs or scarce rays of light).
Some good sources of inspiration, I must say, at least for myself. You may find others more suited towards yourself. It's all part of the writing process.

Otherwise, in most technical ways, this was executed well. Overall it is a artful piece, and an excellent performance; still, I would advise some more musicality in your composition.
I'm always half-asleep, and I hate dubstep.
Also, you know that other, way more awesome Nomnom guy who shows up on EQD sometimes? THAT PERSON IS NOT ME.
We just happen to have similar pseudonyms.

Yeah, I just improv'd this after a few minutes of preperation. I think I'm going to be getting deeper into composition in a few upcoming pieces, but I agree about it's simplicity. I could have probably spent more time adding variation, but overall I'm proud of it ^^. I guess, about it's name compared to it's feeling, I just put what I thought or felt when I listened to it. It's always up for interpretation :3

Thanks for the feedback!
