That little motif at the start is way too repetitive. As is the second one.
The Electric guitar solo in the middle of those two was good though! As was the bit at 4.50 - 6.00.

The reason they sound so repetitive is because you don't do enough to vary things like instrumentation or harmony. In order to constantly repeat a motif over and over effectively, you need to make it sound like it's not a copy/paste job...:P
Heck, when the original motif returns at 6.09, it sounds literally like a copy/paste.

Typical other critique like utilise instruments and their ranges more, more woodwinds, more dissonance, etc etc.

Pretty neat overall though, good job!

No problem!

I just want to add/rectify some things, now that I've had some more time to listen to it.
The opening does have quite a bit of variation now that I've listened to it more, but it's all in the strings. Utilise more of the orchestra in order to make a bigger soundworld than the typical strings making something pretty.
You could also add small parts for instruments. Little rises in the woodwinds, or maybe a solo trumpet belting out a high note on one of the repeats would work wonders. Nuance is key.

I just finished a guide on counterpoint and I hear none here. In fact, there's a lot of sections that would have benefited from counterpoint. Counterpoint ALWAYS makes things like this better, where there's more going on in the music, so consider that for the future and check out my guide!

It will help!

With the copy/paste comment, the best way to combat it is to copy/paste, but to change the instrumentation. Switch the low strings for brass instead and give the low strings something much more rhythmic.

I'm hoping this will help more than my first comment of 'this sounds repetitive, fix it!'

I really like this. Aside from what Dr_Dissonance said, which I think is valid advice. I'd say one of the things that would have helped really make it more dynamic, and more interesting, is to utilize more dynamic range. The whole thing seems to maintain a single level, and for an 8 minute song, I Think it could use a few breaks. Sometimes, just cutting instruments that use lower frequencies can give the ears some rest to appreciate and play some more softer, moving instruments (maybe introduce new instruments like what Dr_Dissonance was saying).

So I downloaded the song and loaded it in audacity to look at the wave form. Even the apparent breaks have a lot of impact to them, it's like a roller coaster ride. Maybe that was what you were going for, but sometimes some variance in the impact you are trying to inflict on your listener can go a long way. Maintaining a level or speed can work for shorter songs, but for a longer song such as this, I would suggest introducing more movements. Anyways, other then hat, I think you got some great work here.

BTW I love the guitar work here, it makes me so peanut butter and jelly sandwich XD

I'm still stuck on using VST's and plugins to emulate electric guitar sounds because it's not in my budget to buy a guitar and D.I. box and learn to play (atm), so I can really admire the authenticity of your playing and tone.
