Hm... there are 2 synths there, plus bass & drums. The bass is playing a constant 3/16 against the prevailing 4/4 meter. Also the lead synths are indeed syncopated at the 16-note level on offbeats here and there... and BOTH leads (which also comprise the chordal filling) are run through two different phasers cycling at diffuse intervals... dunno whatcher talkin bout

I'm pretty sure what you're hearing is an intended effect -- why, do you think it doesn't work?
