So, new project :3 This is going to be a mashup of my own Chrysalis theme and her parts in This Day Aria. Here's the first theme sketch. Please, be exetremely picky ^_^

You could sync up This Day a bit better. It sounds off. It also sounds kinda off key too. I like the version without vocals more.

It was kinda odd without any transitions. Ofcourse I didn't hear any "off key" vocals as mentioned earlier, so good job there!

One question though, what all do you use to make your stuff?

ahh, sounds like you aren't using the legato patches with LASS. :P

Or am I crazy? xD

It's because they are played in octaves at the moment and it made legato engine go crazy =_= I'll fix this later, or maybe not, it sounded nice in one of my previous works, A Tale Of Luna. xD
I splitted on 2 monophonic tracks and nothing changed o_o The patch is Vlns leg LPG and Legato is on.

It's unfortunate for you that This Day Aria's tempo changes many many times...:P

Okay, so I agree with Overk; there weren't really any transitions so it sounded odd.
Also, the strings and drums don't sound like they're in the same room...play with reverb till they do!
I would say add more stuff like counterpoint, or harmonies, but if you add anything else, the drums will drown them...just a thought there!

And with the legato, I don't use LASS, but see if they have a MIDI command for the rate of legato used between each note...at the moment, it's not that noticable, but to the trained ear, it is!

Higher velocity is faster legato I believe.

Finally, forcing legato by CC64 worked, but i still have no idea why it doesn't work regular way, controlled by velocity o_o

It's songs like this that make me want to try my hand at orchestral music.

I think it's great, only since the tempo of the original song changes so much, the part with vocals seems kind of insecure. Also, as many other people have said in this thread, the absence of transitions makes the whole thing sound like three different songs.

Other than that, I really liked it :3

A small update:
1) Transitions! :D
2) Violins are finally legato and seem 20% more Chrysalis related for me x)
3) Corrected TDA tempo using this chart: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2615
but i feel there's still some derp uncatched
4) Some brass counterpoint in the first part
5) Some rolls for fun
