<remix>Love is in Bloom

Postby the4thImpulse » 27 Apr 2012 23:03

I just finished this remix of Love is in Bloom. The original had a perfect house beat and I figured every one would remix it but who cares another remix couldn't hurt. Tell me what you like and absolutely hate about the song.

This is also the fastest I have completed a song, I started sunday and finished today I proud of myself for that much.

I do like the bass, and the little bit of editing you did on the vocals... And the whole SHM rapid kick thing.

However, some of the higher frequencies in the lead cut a little bit too much, and in a couple places they sound (to me, at least) like they're competing with the vocals.

I can't feel my brain.

The song was really good, other than what twelve wrote, the drums could be a bit snappier, a little harder, especially if you're going for an SHM drum warp.

Thanks for the feedback, what do you mean the frequencies in the lead cut a little too much? I rarely work with vocals so I will look into the clashing, thanks.

I believe I may have over compressed the drums on this one and they lost a bit of their punch but I thought they were fine in the end. They are the kind of drums I usually make, I wasn't tring to copy the SHM thing (I didn't even think about it until long after I created that little part of the track). Thanks for the feedback :D

There's been some good recommendations so far. I really like the breakdowns, I like the vocal delay, the vocals are a weird frequency as stated. I'll be honest the main electro synth itself I really don't like as it just doesn't feel like it fits the tune or the message (as would a dubstep remix of the track). That's my biggest gripe. Production wise it is good though.

I have listened back and I still can't hear the weird vocal problem everyone has talked about, maybe its my speakers (I have listened to it on 4 systems now). When I first heard this song I was thinking of a big house song and it turned into this more electro thing, I thought I did great keeping the theme and everything. Thanks for commenting though, you gave me some things to think about.
