<pony><classical piano> This Day Aria

Postby Glitchhog » 25 Apr 2012 23:42

I'm a little late to the party here, but I put this off for a few days due to study. This is my first ever cover (also, TURN IT UP. This doesn't work as a quiet track. Singing along is great as well). I worked this out by ear as well, so I apologize for any mistakes that I haven't been able to pick out. I basically wanted to compose a piano version of this that wasn't just note-for-note. I wanted to give the piano its own voice, if you get what I mean. While this is a cover, it was one of the most challenging and fun tracks I've ever composed. I'm quite happy with the way it came out. (:

Why doesn't this have any comments? This is pretty good (Though I heard the Soundcloud version you posted on Equestria Music). Makes me think of a number like Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame).

Thanks man! I actually forgot I posted this, haha.

I can't see myself doing any more covers, unless I can put my own little spin on things like I did here, however. It was extremely fun to compose. I kind of wish I added a little more reverb to the piano, but I guess as long as it still sounds good. (:

I like putting spins on covers (Like adding another solo to the CMC theme to separate the last two choruses) so you're not alone there.

A little more reverb would add sort of a creepy vibe to the song for sure, but too much would make it a bit muddy and washed out (I know that from guitar experience).
