Hello, fellow bronies, this is a track I've been making over the past two days in light of the newest episode of our beloved program. Throughout the episode, I wondered if Spike really felt the way he said he did, if being with the dragons his whole life was what he wanted...

Because, sometimes we forget what we wanted when we begin a journey to find ourselves. We want independence... freedom... knowledge... We leave into the world and discover what we wanted, but everything seems... wrong, like all the effort we expended was for naught, and everything appears to be against us... but then we realize: everything we had was all we ever wanted. The only problem is now: we're in a bind, a trap; we can't escape... We just want to go home.

Pay close attention to the description as well as remember the events of the episode; it will explain the structure of the song. (trust me)
Any protips for me would be very greatly appreciated as it still feels incomplete and this is only my second song (the first one is blegh)...

much love <3

that piano was awesome, i was in a really depressed mood but it cheered me up :)

I would not make the beat so unorthodox (slow, fast, slow), and the synth bass came unexpected, I would make the transition more predictable or change the synth completely. (Ofc if the changes would fit with the theme)

Thanks for listening (and I'm glad the piano helped lift your mood)! c:

I agree with that now that I've listened back, it seems to have sped up tooooo much there at the end (it's supposed to symbolize the chase scene in Ep. 21 near the end), and the synth does seem to come out of nowhere. Perhaps I need to add it in many times prior to the break-down to show that it IS coming rather than shove it in listeners' faces... I will experiment after I sleep.

Thanks again!

Well, I can't really say anything about the composition of the latter half since that isn't really my genre, but I do have a little question about the piano. Is the left hand playing complete chords (as in, root + third + fifth)? The question occurred because the lower harmony part sounded a bit jarring to me. Lower pitched sounds that are close together tend to interfere a lot with each other.

Near the end, when the synth parts and piano take turns, the piano could use more high frequencies. It sounds like you put a low pass filter on it, but I think it would sound more consistent if the highs were still in there. Since they pretty much abruptly take turns playing their parts, it helps if they're sonically congruent. But that's just my opinion :)
