The Castle for the two sisters in the Everfree Forest greatly reminded me of Lavender Town from Pokemon. So why not try to combine them? Here's my new original (WIP):

I know a bass needs to be added, as well as some of that elusive element called 'interest', but I'd like to know if I'm on the right track, so to speak.

It's got that really neat spacey feeling to it, and I like the intro a lot. Beyond that it gets pretty repetitive, but definitely seems like you're on "the right track." At least how I'm hearing it. As for adding in a bass, if you have it get more complex in the middle, that'd be the only place I'd think of adding it in, honestly. The first part sounds cool drifting around. But it sounds really cool, I'm interested to hear what more comes from it!
