Postby senntenial » 05 Mar 2012 11:17

Here we go. Made this while being horrendously sick. Had to do something...
So here is a remixish of CommandSpry's "A Touch of Variation"

Dubstep? Dubstep. I think.
(Anyway, I know people usually like remixes, but if you dun want it up, tell me and I'll take it down, CommandSpry)

Did you say... High end?

But yeah, I know what you mean. First time I've actually been able to achieve something that sounds like that so I'm still learning the ropes.

Hmm, those synth hits that are super stereo separated / panned feel a bit too present during the first bit, and it does feel a little too bright, but otherwise it's pretty solid! Goes by real fast. Also, lol at the end.

It is quite bright, overpoweringly so. But I'm sure I'll fix that in coming songs. Unsure with the panning. I'll have to plug in a headset and hear for myself. Thanks for tha commentz everaponah.

Yeah i have to echo what people said (a little too bright eq's) but otherwise it has a nice modern dubstep sound to it that sounds pretty good. I'd recommend doing a little more eq (and maybe add a darker layer to counterbalance) and putting out a more polished track if possible (longer too). Up to you if this is a WIP or if this is the end but its worth fixing and spending more time if it's this good a start. ;)

^^ This exactly, this track sounds good and can be great. Each individual part i well made but when it comes to the frequencys there is a little clashing and to much overlaping. Give the main wobble, kick and snare more space to punch through the mix by cuting away a lot of frequencies of every synth and drum hit. Doing that will make it sound much better as a whole, when you play them solo'd it will sound empty and that is a good thing.

I'm definitively going to be doing more mastering on my tracks. It's about time... Man, I've been with FL Studio since I was like 8. Time to make it sound good.

Being said, anybody have some of their songs they'd like remixed? I've had tons of fun doing the last two.
