Collective stuff I've put together.

Postby senntenial » 25 Feb 2012 01:57

Hey, guys. Just thought I'd share some stuff. I'm 15, using FL studio. My favorite thing to create is orchestral, but I also try a bit of electronic. Tell me what you think (:
Orchestral Stuff
http://soundcloud.com/senntenial/awakening
One of my first orchestral pieces trying out some soundfonts. Thank goodness for DSK. I'm hoping to save up for LASS one day. All of my stuff is pretty much freeware, so I try to squeeze as much good sound as I can from them. Of course, it's limited.

Only posted this WIP to tumblr yet. Excuse my language, hehe.

These tracks are being made for a game I'm developing called immolation.http://immolation.forumotion.com/

Electronic Stuff

http://soundcloud.com/senntenial/orchestral-dubstep
Mixed some Orchestral sounds with a dubstep style.

http://soundcloud.com/senntenial/reverie
Repetitive and short, almost like a round.

DnB tune

http://soundcloud.com/senntenial/mlp-dubstep-what-is-this-place
Splicing Fluttershy's gala voiceings to create a small song.

http://soundcloud.com/senntenial/twilight-twubstep
Spliced Twilight's vocals for this song

http://soundcloud.com/senntenial/chords-wip-woohoo
lastly, some WIP chord progression style inspired by the style of Skrillex.

Tell me how you like it!

Ah! Someone who can use DSK well! Man, whenever I try to use it, it sucks wind (and my processor shits like 20% more bricks). You most certainly have the orchestral sound down, especially the tense sounds. Very nice. Keep it up with the electronic as well. You have some talent for someone your age that's for certain.

Thanks for your kind words!
Yeah, DSK eats the hell out of my card. Full chords get me popping even when the buffer has 2048 samples.

And whoops I forgot some stuff.

I really liked those songs you posted. The swing on Photon March was very well executed :D

Your use of samples is indeed impressive. I really need to try something to that effect pretty soon here. What did you use for the wobbles in "I Don't Understand"? Is that Sytrus?? But again, all of these are well done! Keep it up!

Ah, and thank you :) Photon March is weird because I only used 3xOSC to produce the wobbles. All the other noises were from samples from the example projects cut up. I'm still trying to get used to Massive, but that trail version crap is pissen me off a bit.

Thanks Commandspry! And Syntax, I do not own sytrus, so I use a heavily effected 3xOsc for my songs. For the wobble, I manually draw out the peaks in automation clips. It's tedious, but I find it fun, even if it isn't the most economical usage of resources and time I like the control.

That's an image of I don't understand. I automated the cutoff and panning.

This is some good work so far. Just curious, you own FL studio but don't own sytrus? Sytrus should be part of your FL Studio tools unless I'm just not understanding you right....

As I remember it was always that way. Guess your's was magic lol.
Anyway, I really REALLY want LA Scoring Strings, and Massive. Man, why must everything I'm interested cost so much? Does anybody know if they have educational licenses? I haven't found word of any.
and wow, forgot another track

I liked your orchestral stuff it is pretty well done.

I enjoy using DSK, however the only way I can use it is with ASIO4ALL, so I mostly use soundfonts

Found a pretty nice orchestra soundfont collection

Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra

http://sso.mattiaswestlund.net/

---------------------------------------

However you will need this to use them

SFZ Player(fixed)

http://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php?p= ... stcount=10

as for wubs I like to use edit events.
