<Pony> <Original> Everfree

Er, hi. I'm new here.

I've been using FL Studio for a few months now, and I feel like I've finally gotten a point where my stuff might be listenable. However, it's very, very far from perfect, so criticize away.

Oh, I hope you have a download link for this somewhere :D

Still listening, CC in a bit

EDIT: Found the link!

Constructive Criticism BEGIN!:

The piano at the beginning feels inorganic, robotic. you might want to change velocities on those few notes. Maybe give it more of an echo effect. i.e. the second note having a lower velocity than the first, the third lower than the second, and the fourth lower than the third. Then change pitch, and repeat.
percussion is a little loud when the bass first comes in.

Very good work up until 1:16. the sudden style change startled me a bit. Might want to make the transition a bit smoother there.

Once again, might want to rework the transition at 2:42.

Other than that, nice song you have here. A bit repetitive, but nonetheless well made.
~End of Constructive Criticism~

I swore to myself NOT to post here on MLR until I had a song I felt worth posting, but I obviously posted here. :D

Good work

P.S. You might also want to invest in a SoundCloud account at some point or another.

I agree on it sounding inorganic at the beginning. But unless you were going for more of an artificial sound, it sounds really good. I absolutely love the way everything's put together very nice job!

This is just my opinion, but I would have liked maybe a ldeeper bass and have it all tied together. Legato-like.

Keep it up! You have some good ideas. It still has a bit of the artificial DAW sound present, but that goes away with time and patience.

Perhaps your next great feat could be learning how to mix, which is essential to quality. Here are some informative guidelines and tips I found helpful.

Yeah, looking back on it, the start isn't too good. I think both the start and the transitions are the weak points in most of my tracks. I'll see what I can do with them next time.

Also, I do have a SoundCloud account, but not a premium one. At the moment I don't see the point in using it too much, but it's there if I need it.

Wow, that looks really useful! I'll give it a read and see how it goes.
