I had some other things I was working on to show to you guys first, but after seeing this week's episode, I couldn't resist throwing down a quick guitar jam with that name. It was just too perfect.

Was going for a sort of jazzy blues feel that I felt would still fit the Apple family well. I'm mostly happy with the guitars, although there's a couple of spots where they're sloppy and can be cleaned up. Haven't done any mixing or much editing yet, as I'm still learning Cubase that came with my new Tascam recording interface. Threw in a small lick that seems to be an Applejack cue from certain episodes for kicks as well. I want to try and get my hands on a bass (since I don't have one currently) so I can add a little more bottom end to it, but it might actually work with just the two guitars. I'm really undecided on drums, what do you guys think?

aww shoot. any chance you can get a soundcloud if you haven't yet. it's free and you can stream your tracks and network with your fellow bronies so we can hear your tracks directly online (since some people like me are at work). :)

Good idea, that will make things easier. I was going to wait until I finished it to create a Soundcloud, but I didn't realize they had a WIP section. Account created and uploaded here for easier listening for those that can't access the earlier link:

Hey, this sounds really good so far. I think low ends are fine as is, so I think adding a bass guitar wouldn't be all that necessary. The high ends aren't sticking out as much, but you said you haven't done much mixing or editing yet so it's fine. As for drums, I would suggest getting something like a cajon playing in the background. Pretty much something hand percussion would sound great with it. Keep up the good work. =]

Wow. I love your style, and yes, it definitely has an Apple family vibe going on there. You're playing is super smooth, and you keep it fresh and interesting throughout. Personally, I wouldn't want to change anything about it, I really love it as it is!

This is great as it is. that said you could easily add so much to it and transform into one storming country-rock track with drums, harmonica, fiddle, vocals, etc. if you don't go that route i hope someone helps you out and does so. I think any southern bronies need to start getting involved in Applejack inspired country music as its a perfect fit for the character (and a good chunk of America likes it i hear too). But on its own this is great so fab job, lots of character in this one.

Wow, thanks so much guys, I'm glad you're digging it :D After not seriously playing guitar for 4 or 5 years, feels good to start putting out stuff again. I play lots of different styles, this one is a little new to me.

Unfortunately, I'm in the process of moving today throught the rest of the weekend, starting a new job on Monday, so I won't get around to mixing it and tweaking a few small things until after then. I do kinda like the idea of some light handdrumming in the background, Mingus, I'll definitely play with that.

Man, I just wish this move was over and done with >.<

Well this is one of those thiings if anyone wanted to pick this up and ADD to it it would be extremely easy to do (no real stems needed as its all here). Hope someone wants to "remix" it that way (although I sound interested I need to pass for now until i get some future projects done).

Wow, dude! This is very enjoyable! I don't have any critique to offer, this is just overall fantastic! Loads of variation in it, and yet it carries a consistency to it. Very hard to pull off, awesome work!

I'm still working on putting all my stuff in my new apartment into place, but I did spend a little time tonight after work to experiment around with it a little more. I tried a few things, but I ended up liking it the way it was, so I fixed the mix a bit and called it done. Throwing this in this thread to not take up too much space.

Hoping to get some more tunes cranked out over the next few weeks and be a little more active here once I get more settled into my new place.
