I've never done Drum & Bass, and i rarely listen to it either, so i cant' really give you any advice composition wise.
But hey, i thought it was good. The voice sample at 0:47-ish was a bit to "sharp" for my taste, it almost hurt my ears a bit hearing it.
I thought it was good, even tough this isn't really my type of music.

Ok, you have the Drum, but where's the Bass? You have some nice breaks in there, very nice, and good use of samples. But without a tasty sub bass it feels empty and incomplete.

He's got a point, it's got most of the elements you need (the drum part is good) but its a curious mix of electro and drum & bass but with not a lot of bass. Actually gets a little breakbeat hardcore near the end which is fine with me but you could add a bassline pretty easily if you want and make it a bit better. Great start though but could be 20% cooler.

Also, as an amateur im not rly familiar of the terminology.. what do you mean by a sub-bass or a bassline? I have a bassy off-beat sound running through most of the track. What's that then?

You could simply try beefing that up in the EQ as its not really sticking out as much as it should (if that fits that purpose). If that doesn't help as its function add a deeper sub bass to the track. TBH a lot of the more recent Drum & Bass tracks really go for very deep basslines while this has a little more retro hardcore feel to it where they didn't have quite the same level.
