Above the the link to my youtube video of my first music made for the community ever. I realize it sucks, yes. The sound quality will be a little bad since the program I'm using wouldn't allow me to export unless I purchased, so i recorded in audacity and went from there. But yeah. This is what I have. Take it in stride, provide feedback, and keep in mind that my specialty is fanfiction, not remixes. However, I'd be interested in making professional remixes, so whatever program the pros are using (If free) that I could learn relatively easily would be much appreciated.

Hey. Glad to see your interest.
Looks like you got a start going there...

In terms of retail software there a few programs, which will differ for you based upon your preference.

On PC, probably the three main ones would be FL Studio, Ableton, and Reason.

FL Studio is probably the most common choice. In my opinion, it's main feature is the step sequencer, and it's workflow, which enable you to write beats with relative ease.

Ableton is great for the type of musician who likes making weird live stuff and playing with loops. It has a much different approach from other programs, a little more organic and instant.

Reason is for the type of people who like to play around with knobs and wire stuff together. It's a fun, different take on music production, a little more grounded in a virtual hardware style of use.

And of course, if you want to be totally legit, and free. Might I suggest heading over to www.audiotool.com. It runs in your browser, if you want little commitment, and just want to play around right away.
