Mysteries of the Glowfree Forest

A orchestral piece, that i could really use some feedback on. Basically, it is supposed to give you a feeling of a My little Pony fantasy type game, where Zecora somehow has transformed the Everfree forest to a magical forest. I'm thinking giant mushrooms in different colors and huge frogs that speak human language, and so forth. (Basically, a fairy tale forest)

Now, i'm not very happy about this song yet. It is unfinished, yes, but it lacks... Something, ackording to me. I just can't put my finger on it, and i really hope you guys can.

My first thoughts are with the opening...
Regarding the strings at 0.08, could you maybe try playing them as staccato notes instead of long notes?
So at the moment, they're going:

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (just a random letter chosen)

when I think it'd sound more fairytale like with:

e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e

If you get what I mean!

Keep them long the second time though, that was good!

Also, add more bassoon, bassoons are very 'magical!'

But shaping up very nicely so far! Great job!

Nothing wrong with the instruments/production, you captured the atmosphere you were aiming for, I guess a 'loud' part added at the end would improve it?
