I'm still learning how the hell I do everything, but I thought it would be a good idea to for some learning by doing and take a break from checking out manuals and tutorials and just make a song. Actually completing a song is also good to keep up my motivation and sanity so I whipped something up the other day.

Musically it's pretty meh with a boring 4-bar 2-5-1 progression and simple, repetitive melody. The synths and samples used are also kinda weak, but this was more about learning how to make a sound rather than getting hung up on making the sound perfect.

The mixing and mastering is, well that's my biggest problem. I really have no clue when it comes to that. It's not too bad though I think hope.

Anyway, here it is. I don't even know what genre this would fit it.

I have a lot to learn before I can produce something even half-decent. My planned projects are going to have to wait until I get a bit more knowledgeable, I guess.

I enjoyed that! I liked how upbeat and energetic it was. Excellent stuff, once again, better than anything I make ^ ^

Really? I almost didn't upload that because I thought it was so bad. I'm sure you can do better.

Eventually I want to do a remix/redo of this guy. I love that song to bits and would kick myself if I learned how to do something with it and then didn't.

Yeah, no really it's pretty good. Just keep working at it and you'll get to be really good at this. It's also good to have aspirations when it comes to making music. You've got a lot going for you, man, keep it up ^ ^

Working on a song as a reaction to the game "SCP - Containment Breach." That game is so scary I pooped -- twice, as it were.

Literally just finished this. Any thoughts or feedback before I go through the trouble of orchestrating all the parts?

lyrics:

Give in
Hide your ugly face
Hide your thoughts full of sin
My mother would say

I'd look into her eyes
To a face full of care
There's no one in there

Is this over?
Is there much more than I realize?
Is this over?
There's not much more to say

I gaze into the depths
Of my unconscious soul
But I see nothing
but silence
And from the mirrors,
looking at me, is somebody else

So I'll pretend to be me
for now

Is this over?
Is there much more than I realize?
Is this over?
There's not much more to say

It never fails, right when I start feeling pretty good about the work I'm doing, someone amazing puts out a new track and it's mind=blown.

The track itself is sounding awesome, I don't have a lot of critiques, I'm afraid, since I'm not too familiar with the genre

Anyone willing to collab on this one (FLS 10) is welcome to PM me.

I'm remixing "Stuck in Time" which is coming along nicely. But it'll probably end up being more of a re-write, since I'm doing this completely by ear.

Do remixes cover rewrites?

A lyrical rewriting, (or parody, if such terminology is appropriate) of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida", the lyrics being spoken by Discord as he looks back on his former rule over Equestria.

In addition, I have a four-part orchestral piece focusing around the story of Nightmare Moon, which just needs a few more finishing touches before publication.

Just got out of the shower with the idea to make a rap re-write of the CMC theme song. This could be interesting...

I just took him up on this idea, and he is clearly WAY better at this than I am. Oh heavens, what have I gotten myself into?

I suppose I'll be devoting most of my time to this for now.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about this. That's one of the reasons why I asked to collab with you on it haha.

I've put my projects mentioned earlier to the side, in favor of a far, far more ambitious project that I've wanted to do for a while: A concept album that musically tells the entire story of everyone's favorite draconequus, Discord.

There's going to be metal, there's going to be electronic, there's going to be even more pipe organ, a few orchestral pieces thrown in for good measure...it's gonna be awesome.

I had my speakers turned high when I turned this on. That synth scared the heck out of me! So far it seems like a very scary party your Rarity has going on. :D
