i just finished reading Background Pony by ShortSkirtsAndExplosions and it gave me a feel
So I'm making a song about it

would love to know what you guys think of the instrumentation or if anything just seems or sounds weird

There's dissonance starting at 0.22 with the synth that pops up there. The pluck at the start has too much reverb so it sounds weird, and the clap doesn't have enough tail on it. The instruments sorta of just moosh together, not really playing well together at all. And the kick is mixed poorly, it doesn't join the mix it sorta sticks behind it. The hat/bell thing is mixed poorly as well, it's sitting in front of the mix so the speak, and is stealing too much attention.
