<pony><original> Vinyl's Despair

Postby Pyro25100 » 29 Aug 2012 20:17

Much variation could have been applied to this song, but with school slamming me with assessments and piles of homework, I don't quite have the time. I think it's decent. The piano is what I believe could have done with more variation. Sorry about that.

Are you using Fruity Limiter?
Or some kind of limiter on everything?
That's what it kind sounds like in a lot of parts.

When you had parts where the kicks go three times (relatively) quickly didn't sound quite right. Put the way they play a little faster, or change up the rhythm a little... (sorry if that was worded badly, not so great at describing things like this :/).

I'm loving that beat, but the track doesn't seem to have a feeling. It feels like its progressing well enough, but I can't tell what mood it's going for. (W/O looking at the title of course.) Basically, it could use more focus. Maybe some strings? Also, a good (sparing) dose of well placed hihats would have done wonders here. Hihats are there to help you're beat really move and sound faster. Unless you want your track to sound very slow, add in some Hihats.

I see. Thank you for your words of advice. I'll definitely look to see if there's a limiter on somewhere. And yes, I'll be sure to go full out with my next song. This was a bit of a placeholder while I'm getting slammed with beginning-of-the-school-year tests and homework. Once it settles a bit, I'll work on something with more feeling. Hopefully it comes out better than this. I've been doing this for 7 months now. I should probably already know this stuff. :/
