[Non-pony Original] Jimmy's instrumentals

With the exception of Time Dilation, these were all constructed in plain MIDI, and then rendered with a variety of soundfonts. Therefore, they won't sound amazing, mix-wise, and some of the instruments might even sound a bit weird, but I've put all the care I possibly could into the composition of the pieces. It's important to me that music is melodic and has a wide variety of basic sounds ready to be interpreted either by the listener or a DAW, and the mixing/mastering process is secondary to that.

It's also kinda difficult to get an overall sound that's quite as satisfying, from importing a MIDI file into a DAW and then reassigning the sounds to each instrument, either from scratch or a set of presets.

For some of my attempts to write "proper-sounding" music in Propellerhead Reason, go to my SoundCloud for some WIPs.

Anyway, hope you all enjoy the tracks, regardless of my obsession with MIDI. :P

Added Alien (4:01).

Atmospheric, dark ambient-ish track with a slightly "dubsteppy" feel (insofar as the drumbeat/tempo matches :P). This is a slightly older tune but I still really like how it turned out, especially with the couple of soundfonts I used working their magic on the haunting intro synth and drum tracks.

Added Chrome (3:48) and Dead in the Water (4:02).

The first is a heavy rock/metal track that I started like two years ago but couldn't finish due to the solo giving me trouble. A guy on one of my Doom forums popped up and said he wanted to collaborate, and he finished it off for me. He provided a cracking solo at the end, and a neat little outro.

The second is a remix of a track from one of the original Doom expansion packs (Evilution). I gave it some heavy/prog metal vibes, and played around with the melodies a bit, but tried to preserve some of the creepy atmosphere of the original.

:D
