Hey all, in semi-mock-celebration of hitting 50 subscribers, I covered Ragnar the Red from Skyrim. Worth a few lulz =P Enjoy!

Pretty amusing. A shame it's recorded with a sub-par mic though. I always found it odd that in the game, they got some of THE worst voice actors to do the bard stuff. There was one guy in particular who was absolutely tone deaf that I always paid to hear a tune from because it was just fun to hear how bad he was.

From what I can tell though you did a good job with it. Worlds better than some of the in-game guys, and even added a slight bit of humor to it.

Haha, thanks. I HAD wanted to cover this using a guitar - the plan was to record myself saying the introduction, but without the guitar, then going and fetching it and proceeding with the song. I was going to edit the video so that it would appear out of nowhere like the bards do in Skyrim. Unfortunately, that plan fell through because I'm a terrible guitarist :P

And yeah, unfortunately everything is recorded through my iPhone 4s X3 I have very minimal knowledge about recording equipment, so I'm proceeding very tentatively in that area. I have some basic knowledge about microphones, but coordinating audio and visual recording simultaneously... oh well, I'll learn somehow!

Ha! Recording video/audio seperately isn't terribly difficult actually. The most basic way to do it is to have both your video and audio recorders going at the same time and then with video editing software (premiere or something similar) layer the audio recording over the video/mute the video's audio. Getting all the stuff to do that is the hard part, though.

Anyway, I love that idea of pulling the guitar out of nowhere like in-game. A shame you couldn't have done that. Haha!

Yeah, I had thought about doing it in a similar way to that. The idea was using microphones to record the audio and my iPhone to record the video. I was then going to convert the audio to an mp3 and insert it into Windows Live Movie Maker as an audio track and have it play over the video. The only major problem I could see there is that Movie Maker isn't exactly a high-quality video production program, and I imagine that aligning the audio and video correctly would be incredibly frustrating.

Who knows, maybe I'll cover the song again on guitar :P
