<Pony> <Original> <WIP> Chrysalis Falls (Orchestalish)

Here's a quick WIP I'm looking for feedback on.

I'm attempting to portray a scenario where after Queen Chrysalis's failure she is usurped from the throne while her people starve.

After typing it out I realise that was darker than I meant it to be...

Anyway, here it is!

At the moment I worry that the two chord chord progression is a little bit boring but at the same time I only mean it to be atmospheric music... in a way ;)

I don't find it boring, though every time the chords fully fade out the silence leaves the atmosphere a bit wanting. It could use something there. That something wouldn't necessarily have to be melodic either. Heck a light wind sfx would fill the space quite nicely and create a sort of desolate feeling (thinking about the starving changelings) in conjoint with the melody that's already there. But that might not be what you want. I was just suggesting something. Any sort of pad/light sfx I think would be fine to keep up the atmosphere where the instruments really dip.

The track can definitely stand to be drawn out longer without getting boring (though I would definitely start to build it up with a swelling sort of sound, to add filling as the track goes on). I would also love to hear more of the introductory instrument. That sound is awesome. Music box for the win.

The strings add a sense over looming darkness, that shit is sad or at least unnerving. The plucked instrument adds a sense of tranquility and those drums add a sense of suspense.

Good idea for filling the space i'll try that out later.

As for the Music Box. I'm not sure it can be used in conjunction with other instruments very well. I'm not sure but there may by a tiny gap between when the midi is called and when the sound plays. I suppose it would make sense with an actual music box...

Take a look at "Focus" on my sound cloud and you may see what I mean.

Thanks for the feedback! :D
