<WIP><Pony><Remix> Musical Telegraphy

So after listening to great Brony music for the past six months or so, I decided to give it a try myself. I have some experience with music, but I've never used a DAW before. So I'm a bit lost, but also having a lot of fun. I'm using LMMS and a few free VSTs and soundfonts.

This is my work-in-progress remix of Pinkie's Singing Telegram song from "Party of One" (though it takes a while for it to start sounding like it). I combined some orchestral strings and some synths to make a track that I might be able to place in a genre if I knew more genres. As it is, I'll just call it 'interesting'.

As I said, I'm a complete beginner with making music with a DAW, so any constructive criticism would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I hope it isn't bad form to be the first to reply to my own thread, but I've edited my track and uploaded it to YouTube. There's still probably a lot of room for improvement, but I think it's decent for my first effort. Download link in the video description.
