Myth's troll post is about clashing musical scales (and probably poorly-timed key presses).
I make ear rape. Wanna hear it?
Senator Myth wrote:Also, what do you mean by poorly-timed key presses?

Circuitfry wrote:Very likely nothing. I don't know the term of it, but it's not like it was offbeat, but the manner in which you were pressing keys was excessive in the, err, I just can't explain it in text, I'm sorry. If it was deliberate then I stand corrected. I hope I didn't insult you or anything.

The band Ayreon is a project by Singer/Instrumentalist Arjen Luccassen. Ayreon's music is best described as Progressive Folk Rock Opera, as musically each album is part of an ongoing story with differing singers taking up the part of different characters over the sound of Progressive Rock/Metal music.
The first five albums tell a complex story involving (and this is going to sound just dumb, but go with me here) Aliens who destroyed their home planet, but have used humans through out the history of earth as a means of one day fixing their home planet and saving themselves from the eternity of nothingness they have been trapped in. These humans have included Merlin, an egyptian, a Stoner, a cowboy and a spaceman who is the last man on earth in the distant future. In addition to this, two of the albums focus on the aforementioned space man using a device called The Dream Sequencer to relive past memories of both humanity and the alien race.
Still with me? Good.
Ayreon's sixth album took a very different turn. It tells the story of a man who falls in to a coma, and during the coma communicates with his emotions personified (i.e. Anger, Fear and Love). Through this communication and messages sung by his close family and friends, the protagonist manages to deal with his inner demons and how he came to be in a coma. The album was celebrated for Arjen finally taking what was musically brilliant and also adding a lyrical complexity that didn't sound like the plot of a terrible 60's porn film... well, compared to to his other stuff at least.
This is the final track of the Album. It's great. Listen to the whole thing, but if you can't be bothered, listen from 5:30 onwards, for the big climatic finale!
