[WIP][Pony] Sunny Moon For Two

There's a lot of work that needs to be done here. I still want to refine my synths, improve the rhythm section and touch up the melodies a bit. There's almost no mixing to speak of right now and I really don't know how to go about that.

The original goal of this was to tell the story of Celestia and Luna. That pretty much failed, but I think I can make something out of it.

What are your thoughts so far? I don't know whether I should keep going or just scrap it.

Dat swing. I can't see this fitting in with Luna and Celestia, but you could definitely work with it! Personally, I think it'd go better with a regular jazz band than with synths, mostly cause of the style of the music, though saxophone soundfonts are usually pretty terrible. Still, if you can make it work with the synths, then all the better.

It kinda gets strange with the rhythms and melody from 0:23 to 0:47, but it might just be me. The rest of it though is pretty awesome! I wouldn't throw this away, if I were you, I'd want to see this fleshed out.

(btw, I think the name still fits the piece. Maybe it's a song to tell the story of Carrot Top and Derpy?)

Ya, that first 4 bar solo I couldn't really get right and I agree it does need work.

If I could get a really jazz group on this that'd be great, but I also kinda like trying to fuze synths into it.

If you haven't figured out yet, this is "Sonnymoon for Two" and the title of my track is a play on words. The idea originally came from how Celestia and Luna are the "gods" of the Sun and Moon so the title worked out nicely. I had intended to take influence from and allude to "Sonnymoon for Two" as well as use its chord progression, but other than that make it quite different. Obviously that didn't work out as once I started hammering it out it ended up being exactly like it. I will be modifying the header in the end product though.

Making this work for a Celestia/Luna piece won't work without a major rewrite. I run into problems trying to get inspiration for pony music because there no pony that really classy enough for Blues and Funk. Although, a Carrot Top/ Derpy song. I like that idea and it can definitely work. Thanks for the tip.

Just do your research and experiment. A lot. And ask for help. That's what I've been doing, and it's been working out.
