So yeah, this is my song for Balloon Party. I think it's pretty good. I'm not sure if that means it sucks or it's really good. I've been working on this for over a month, so this ain't no sloppy, tossed together in 5 minutes preview. So just have a listen and gimme yo feedback.

Feedback as I listen:

Somehwhat generic sounding bassline, it has a nice character to it which I like. Opening the filter through the intro good. Kick comes in, I am not a fan of this kick, it sounds real simple and like its trying to be heavy but it can't. Is there reverb on it? Generaly its a bad idea to put verb on a kick, it can cause it to get muddy and less defined. I suggest you carefully layer 2 kicks together to replace the one you have. The snare is too simple I would put a clap on top of it to give it more character and presence. Ok vocal part is good, fits well volume wise. Wobble time! The main wobble you first play gets old fast imo, I assume your using massive, if so do some wavetable modulation to change it up as it plays. The drums need more presence for this part, I would use some sidechaing on the wobbles and transient shaper on the drums.

Its a good start, and to be honest its better then any dubstep I have ever made, but there is still work to be done and I hope I have helped you in some way.

Wow...that's alot of feedback. Some quick replies:
-No reverb on the kick, but I do have a reverb on the main channel (I think it makes it sound better)
-I have about 10 unique synths in this and I tried to vary them throughout. I got a little lazy with that first wobble though.
-The drums can be louder, the snare I used are two layered snares so I'll screw with the volume on those and try and keep the sound.
Thank you for the critique and the compliments! This is my first really big project and I'm really trying to be open to criticism.

Just my opinion about the master channel: I like to leave it alone until the very end of the mixdown, I never put any sort of reverb on the master because it effects the whole track and I hate reverb on my kicks for the reasons I stated earlier. On my master channel I usualy end up with an eq with a curve that takes away .5db from 20Hz to 200 and a bandaxall curve that looks like this, and Ozone 5 for its mid/side eqing, limiter, and exciter. I would experiment with adding a clap ontop of those snares, it could help give it more difiniton, just an idea though.

aaaaaa so much repetitive wub

Seriously though, everything before the drop's good. Afterward, you fall into the mistake of using the same boring wobble over and over so basically what the4thimpulse said. Definitely mix it up.
