<Pony>Tried with stream of consciousness rap. Thoughts?

Postby DJnickbeta » 12 Mar 2012 23:04

Hi everypony!

I'm pretty new to this forum, but I've only heard good things, so I though I'd throw up my newest rap track. I'd love to get some opinions on it, because it's done in a way that I don't think a lot of bronies have tried out yet. I call it stream-of-consciousness, because it's meant to flow like the thoughts in your head. The ideas jump around in the same way you jump from concept to concept. Anyway, I'm rambling, here's the song:

One more quick thing, I'm absolutely dreadful with audio editing. I haven't done anything but adjust the gain on the takes, so, yeah. I'm always looking for somepony to help out with that.

I like this. It's nothing special, but this community doesn't have enough music that's just straight-up one genre, and Celestia knows I need more hip-hop in my life. So good on ya, me gusta mucho.

(And just as an afterthought, most hip-hop I listen to tends to sound like stream of consciousness anyway, so I'd say you're doing it right.)
Youtube -- Soundcloud -- Tumblr -- Bandcamp (new album out!)

I can't feel my brain.

I, too, like this. Hearing rappers from the brony community and other more independent rappers has given me a lot of insight into the hip hop genre and everything. Since the only other place I had heard it before was in god awful mainstream stuff I had a pretty negative connotation of it all. So keep this up, we need it, because it's always great to hear. I can't even begin to claim I know what I'm talking about when it comes to stuff like this, but to me it really flowed well. The music is great, too, by the way. DO MORE, keep it up!!
