<Pony><Remix> Becoming Popular Cover

Postby Hazmatt » 28 Feb 2012 18:54

Hello everypony! I'm new to this site, but I've wanted to make music for a while now. I need to get myself a good DAW to work with, but until then, I've decided to do covers of other songs. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I figured this looked like the best place for it. This is my cover of "Becoming Popular". I got the instrumental from infinitydash's Youtube channel. I wasn't sure whether or not to change the gender-specific "girl", "Jane Doe", etc., but then I decided to stop caring. If I'm going to sing a song about a pony joining a high-class society, I'm already confident enough in my manliness to not have to worry about it. Enjoy! Or don't, if you prefer.

Erm, it's, eh, nice. It's nice. Maybe a little flat. Try to sing from your lungs, that'll get rid of the nasaly sound. Also you seem to be singing way out of your vocal range, try to transpose the melody down an octave or two. That might help

Hah, I can't go down two octaves, that would be worse. Thanks for the feedback though, I'll try moving it down a bit; maybe a fifth or so. It is a little high for me, but I wanted to see what I could do with it. I'll probably re-do it tomorrow. Thank you! :D

^what vladnuke said. If it's any consolation however, it felt like you really were passionate about it. Can't wait to hear improvements :)
