<Pony><Original><Glitch>Glitchcord

Postby @ppleBukker » 07 Feb 2012 10:50

Okay, so if you noticed a while back I posted something about making a Renardish styled song. This is what became of it. It's not exactly Renard, but I'm not Renard.

This is a song dedicated to one of my favorite antagonists, Discord. I figured a glitchy sounding song would suit him. Any thoughts, comments, questions, critiques?

I really like the synths and all these sounds you've put in there. Great job!

Pretty damn good. Feel like there is a bit to be desired as far as the sound of the drums(when you have the Boom-Tap...BoomTap going on), but the glitchyness of the hats and underlying synths was very well done and felt video gamey, which is good. Overall, nice work!

Thanks for the positive feedback, everypony. I agree that the drums do leave a good bit to be desired. If and when I do another glitch project I'll hopefully have better drum tracks.

I suggest using some old jungle drum loops. They work awesome for any sort of breakcore type thing: http://www.junglebreaks.co.uk/breaks.html

But that's just a personal preference.

Thanks, guys. Ya'll have really boosted my confidence. I was really debating on even posting this song, but now I'm glad I did. I promise my future glitch/breakcore songs will have more intense drums. Again, thank ya'll so much!

If you aren't already listening to breakcore/glitch artists, you really should. I found that listening to the beats and the phrasings can work wonders on beat composition skills. A few of my favorites (so I suppose this would be subjective, but if you are already listening to it, disregard) are: Aphex Twin, The Flashbulb, Venetian Snares, Frog Pocket, etc.

Glad you did post it :)
